2024

How has your sound or style evolved over the past year?
I’d say I’m a lot more aware of making sure I’m playing well rounded and covering most bases, to take care of everyone thats enjoying my set.
They have to leave with a smile…. Check out my “Missing Ingredient” party to see what i mean.
My background and upbringing are rooted in soca music, so it takes a lot for me not to go off on the Caribbean vibes
What have been the standout moments of your year as a DJ?
On the real, they were all memorable, but if I had to choose personally — Art Basel ’24 with Cey Adams x Spotify resonated with me the most.
He contributed so much to the visual fabric of hip-hop, designing iconic logos and covers, and HE’S FROM QUEENS…. it was a “wow” moment for me for sure.

How do you prep before a big gig?
I’m big on visualization… you have to see the win before you get to the race. For me, that means going through every single record in my collection when I’m setting up for an event.
I’ll play an album and sift through each piece of vinyl to make sure that my game plan is straight.

Can you share a story behind a particular track or mix that had a special impact this year?
Hell yea… I was starting my set at a party and needed to get the room involved. So I got into some sing-a-long classics to get everyone going.
But then I hit a pocket…. Jodeci “Come And Talk To Me” mixed into Bitty McLean’s “Walk Away From Love”. Straight magic.

Once I Get’Em Singing…
IT’S OVER

How do you stay creative, even during challenging periods?
There’s a famous book, “Green Eggs and Ham.” Someone shared it to me as an adult and I wrote it off as a damn KID’S BOOK.” They challenged me to try it again.
And poof, what he was trying to share all made sense. If you keep trying you, you will succeed. No matter what.
So I stay in Green Eggs and Ham mode all day!
When you’re not immersed in vinyl, what are you doing?
Running, PERIOD. It’s my meditation. I remember all my life’s to-do’s, things I wanna accomplish, and who I want to be. I build my whole life around running and movement.
We got a run club, “The CRATE” that fosters community and motivation every Tuesday and Saturday in Queens. Repetition & accountability are key for where I am in life at the moment.
Who are some of the people who’ve had the biggest impact on your journey this year?
First off, my biz partner Rell. Knew him before a lot of this started, and he always reminded me to be vocal in sharing my talent with the world. These gifts are never to be kept a secret.
And my guy Curtains…. He taught me about the power of “NO”. So many of us take things that are not for us because of lack. His vision helped me to redefine my outlook, and it’s paid off quickly!
